Obviously by now you have seen thousands of business owners jump online and they are using social media to enhance their online presence. Social acceptance is a priority. I remember about a year ago when I saw already popular companies such as a Walgreens or WalMart tell you to visit their website on Facebook. I thought wow, they are telling people to not come to their website; but instead to come to their Facebook site to see them.
In addition, it is a good idea to help your children keep up with friends after they move. Allow them to call, if they want. E-mail is also a great way to keep in touch. You can also get creative. There are all sorts of little games on Facebook that people love to play, and you can send them gifts in those games. Write articles and have a link at the bottom to your website. Submit your article to article directories. For a good article this can get you a few visitors a day. Roughly 1 visitors a day from each article.
You should probably only use two fonts for your page. Three is pushing it. If you use too many fonts, your page will look cluttered. Try to pick one font for headings and another font for body text. Your page will have a cleaner, more professional look if you keep your font use consistent.
With so many options, you may be tempted to pick the most quirky font to get attention. Or maybe you think you’re giving your page a classy look by using a cursive font. But really, the basic purpose of fonts is to communicate your thoughts. If your font is barely readable then you fail to effectively communicate. If your font can match the personality of the page without hindering readability, great. If not, readability should trump over creativity.
This is your blog and you are free to write about whatever you want. But be warned, you don’t want to offend other people online. There are prohibited tops like porn, racial discrimination and other types of offending hate messages and your blog can be blacklisted or removed all together.
Build relationships. This is self explanatory. Once you have set up an event like this you can then build on it by solidifying the relationships you created.
