When you visit a children’s museum you often see classes from grade schools, scouting groups, and also special groups catering to the needs of children with handicaps. But you should take your children by yourself. Parents understand their children and they can see things in the museum that their children would have had an interest, but because there is so much to see, they missed them.
Raleigh is a hikers dream come true. The city continues to extend it’s Greenway system. They have built tunnels under roads and recently completed a bridge over the Beltline 440. They have trails around lakes throughout the city. In addition the state of North Carolina has an 11 thousand acre park, Umstead inside the city with more trails.
The Blank Park Zoo is still in late winter mode, but it’s April Fool’s tradition continued with an announcement of a new dinosaur speciesat the zoo. While the video and the dinosaur may be a joke, the traveling full size animatronic dinosaur that’s coming May 27 isn’t a joke.
For families Raleigh has an immense number of attractions. During the summer their are more than 35 city parks and community centers open. For those looking for a major attraction here are a few.
The Good Guys (Fox, 9pm) – NEW! Jack and Dan expose a deadly criminal conspiracy while investigating a corrupt oil company, and the case could become problematic for Liz’s boyfriend.
Although it can be incredibly overwhelming, my final recommendation is Times Square. This is without question the epicenter of New York City. It’s what you see in many photos of the city, and it contains many attractions. You may even have the chance to see the famous Naked Cowboy and other street performers. As I mentioned, the crowds here are absolutely huge, and I admit to being a little intimidated at first. But one you get over that, you will find a remarkable area filled with all the tourist attractions your heart could desire.
